The light-burned magnesia powder produced by our company is calcined by 41%, 44%, 45%, 46%, 47% magnesite, brucite and magnesium hydroxide extracted from seawater or brine at about 800-1000 C, which decomposes and discharges CO2 or H2O, namely, light-burned magnesia powder, also known as light-burned magnesia, caustic magnesia or light-burned magnesia, commonly known as bitter earth powder. Light-burned magnesia powder has loose texture and high chemical activity. It can be used not only in the manufacture of magnesia cement, MAGNESITE Building materials, thermal insulation materials, etc., but also in the production of high-quality magnesia by two-step calcination method.
The light burning temperature and light burning time of magnesite have certain effect on the activity of light burned magnesia powder. The magnesite was calcined at 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850 and 900 respectively, and the calcination temperature at 700, 750 and 800 had no significant effect on the activity of light-burned magnesia powder within 15-90 minutes; 600, 650, 850 and 900 had a particularly significant effect on the activity, and the activity increased significantly with the extension of calcination time at 600 and 650 The activity of calcined at 850 and 900 degrees decreased significantly with the prolongation of hydrocarbon burning time.
When magnesite is heated, equiaxed periclase occurs at about 600 ~C, equiaxed periclase disappears at 650 ~C and non-equiaxed periclase occurs, and equiaxed periclase disappears completely at 850 ~C. The lattice of these calcite appears to have higher surface energy due to punctate defects and dislocations. The lattice water of MgO is less than that of MgCO 3 lattice group, so the interlattice pore increases, the porosity is higher, the specific surface area is larger and the activity is higher.
Light burnt magnesia powder is yellowish and light brown powder with particle size below - 100 mesh, small crystal size of periclase (< 3 um), true specific gravity 3.07-3.22, bulk density 0.8-1.2 g/cm 3, refractive index 1.68-1.70, large lattice constant (a=0.4212) and many lattice defects, brittle texture, porous structure, high reaction activity, easy to carry out solid phase inversion. Should be or sintered, water and Mg (HO) 2 will be hardened and bonded. Light-burned magnesia powder calcined from magnesite has a volume shrinkage of about 5%. Usually, there is 3%~5% CO2 left due to incomplete decomposition.
